About CMI — History

CMI Development is one of Moscow’s premier real-estate developers. With a portfolio of more than $3 billion in private investments, CMI Development proudly develops Moscow’s most unique projects – high profile and first-class. Our multinational team of professionals brings a wealth of development expertise and sophistication to its projects. An intimate local market knowledge from various projects in size, kind and complexity combined with a strong international experience that adds the latest know-how makes CMI one of the most qualified developers in Moscow.

CMI began its operations in October 2001 as a rebuilt Alfa Development including all of the former’s key-management (Alfa Development was founded under the name Alfa Estate in 1990 and changed name into Alfa Development in 1995). The initially project of CMI was the Krylatsky Hills Medical Center, the project eventually became known as the Moscow Medical Center. Shortly after, the Krylatsky Hills Business Park – Moscow’s first suburban office park development – was added to CMI’s portfolio. With a total project budget of more than $90 million, the Krylatsky Hills Business Park became Moscow’s largest private real estate development project and is considered by many as the only real business park developed in accordance with western standards so far in Russia. The Business Park project was evaluated by real estate professionals and chosen during the Commercial Real Estate Awards in 2006 as The Project of the Year in the “Business Center A class”-category.

As a result of early successes and the company’s ability to attract very promising project teams with extensive experience in the Moscow real estate market, CMI Development’s activities were soon expanded by its principal Investor, Millhouse Capital, to include such high profile development projects as Balchug Plaza in the very heart of Moscow’s Business District.

During the same period CMI Development completed the architectural design and began construction of the “Dream House” trading center – the first Russian elite interior and design goods trading center for wealthy clients, situated at the intersection between Rublevskoye and Podushkinskoye highways. In 2006 The Project also received the Commercial Real Estate Award in the “Small Shopping Center” category.

Later CMI Development was invited by “Nafta Moskva” as the developer for the “Rublyovo-Arkhangelskoye” project, the largest residential and commercial real estate development in Europe which includes all infrastructure elements of a real town.

In 2005 European Ball Bearing Corporation invited CMI Development to prepare and realize the program of “Moskovsky Podshipnik” production factory transfer and construction of a modern mixed-use business park on the site. This project, named Dubrovka Plaza, is one of the most ambitious and sophisticated projects of redevelopment of industrial properties in Moscow currently under way.

Welcome to CMI Development. World-class Experience. Russian Know-How.
